Southern Exposure: Highlighting the work of photographers from the Majority World

I like this picture because it leaves one wondering whether the ball went in or not. It's filled with suspense - the only person who has the answer to the question is the photographer. Unlike a professional basketball player, this aspiring player displays his skills in a rather humorous posture as he attempts to score. The ball is homemade from wrapped-up plastic and old newspapers.

I am a freelance photographer based in Zimbabwe. My work has been exhibited in Mali, the Netherlands, Germany and South Africa.

Call for entries
Southern Exposure photo entries

We encourage all photographers – particularly women – living and working in Africa, Asia or Latin America, whose work addresses the broad aims of the NI magazine, to submit potential images for this page.
The requirements are as follows:

Format: preferably portrait.
Colour: black and white or full colour
Caption: a maximum of 150 words describing both the content of the image and how the photographer came to take it.
